New auction site on the Internet, I just found Ziinga.com: THE site where you can buy a MacBook Air to € 251.72. Amazing. Curious. I dive into the site to see how it works. For this I create a free account and see me offer three credits!

How Ziinga?

Unlike eBay and other auction sites "traditional" in Ziinga you buy the right to purchase the item in question. This means that if you win the auction, you must still pay the amount displayed.

So far, nothing too serious. I am ready to bid like crazy to buy my MacBook Air at less than 300 €!

But the concern is that each auction costs me between 94 and 53 euro cents (say 80 for calculations) and increased the price of a penny!

So here's an example: Auctioning a MacBook Air at 0.00 €

Warning, this is an example, this is fictional, it does not happen to me!

I offer € 0.01 (it cost me € 0.80).
Someone else offered € 0.02 (€ 0.80 it costs him).
..
..
..

I offer € 0.21 (it cost me € 0.80)
..
..
..
Another offer € 3.47 (€ 0.80 it costs him)
..
..
..
It is 4 am, it hurts my eyes and I'm more tired than I offer € 251.72 ... and I drop it I must get some sleep.
Chance! No one outbids the little countdown timer that resets to 0:15 seconds in each auction finally arrived at 00:00!

I am the lucky winner of an Air AirBook I receive at home in 2 to 5 weeks if I pay the sum of € 251.72 € 17.47 + postage.

My successive auctions cost me 88 x € 0.80 = € 70.40

I therefore pays € 339.59 for a MacBook Air displayed on Ziinga.com € 1 700, it is well worth it! (Between us, it is € 1.399 at the Apple Store!)

Well, I won the auction, it's perfect for me, I bought a super machine to 20% the listed price!

But what's going on behind the scenes there?

I won the auction at € 251.72, it means that all bidders have made 25,172 offers (remember, each bid raises the price of one cent). As you must consume a credit to bid and each credit costs between 53 and 94 cents (depending on how much you buy), Ziinga recovered between 13 and 23 € 341.16 € 661.68 just on this Auction.

So naturally, at this level, € 339.59, I send for my MacBook Air are ridiculous, and we understand why they can afford to sell items at a low price.

Ziinga makes its turnover with the credits spent foolishly bid on an item that one person will win.

Me, in this example, I was lucky (or I was the most nasty) because I won the auction, but if I am faced with more hard than I, what do I do? It is impossible to speculate on the price qu'atteindra specific articles.

So a council, before bidding on Ziinga, calculate how much you can afford to lose because of a plasma, a Playstation 3, an iPhone 3G or a MacBook Air, you will be several tens to beat you, and whoever get will fill their pockets, it is Ziinga!
